Bring Common Sense to Olympia and Change Washington for the Better – Send Sandy Stephens to the Senate from LD46!

Sandy Stephens has spent her life putting others first—as a dedicated nurse on the front lines, a mother of seven, a grandmother, and a community advocate who gets things done.

A Seattle native born and raised in the Northgate area, Sandy grew up in a close-knit neighborhood where people looked out for one another. That foundation of caring for your neighbor has guided her ever since. She pursued nursing with a clear purpose from a young age and built a long career as a registered nurse, including 16 years as a charge nurse on the medical-surgery and COVID care floors. Colleagues and patients knew her as someone who advocated fiercely for the people in her care and made sure things actually got done.

Sandy Gets it Done!

Sandy recognized that the public schools were failing to educate students, so she decided to homeschool her own children – all while continuing her career as a nurse. Homeschooling her own children required her to become even more efficient with her time, but educated her about how the state system is failing parents.

In 2022, Sandy stood up for medical freedom and left her nursing career behind, despite her exemplary record and years of frontline service. That experience, combined with watching her own neighborhood struggle with rising crime, gangs, drugs, fentanyl, and homelessness, convinced her it was time to stop watching from the sidelines. She had already been active for decades in women’s health causes and community outreach, so she stepped up, first as a Precinct Committee Officer, then in 2024 as Chair of the 46th Legislative District.

What Voting for Sandy Means for You

Sandy is running for State Senate because too many decisions in Olympia are made by people disconnected from the daily realities of working families, homeowners, and small businesses.  As a working mother, longtime property and home owner, she understands what it means to build something and protect it for the next generation. Her grandchildren are her greatest motivation – she wants them to inherit a community that is safe, affordable, and rooted in common sense.

She is a doer, not just a talker.  Whether it was advocating for patients in a busy hospital, homeschooling her seven children while working, or organizing at the grassroots level, Sandy has always focused on practical results over ideology.  She believes government should serve individuals and families – not the other way around – and that real compassion pairs accountability with help that actually works.

Sandy is ready to bring that same steady, experienced leadership to the State Senate for Legislative District 46.
